Serbian artist Bogomir Doringer about his project ‘FACELESS’
FACELESS takes a radical look at the phenomenon of everyday media culture and shows how it manifests in visual art, fashion, photography, advertising and dance. The premise of this project is to explore the common occurrence of hidden faces in the creative arts. “I first became acquainted with the notion of hidden faces a decade ago, while still in the fashion industry. Through my collections I experimented with covering models’ faces in masks or hair, thus attempting to make a statement on the constant ‘overdose of beauty’ and artificiality permeating contemporary society through the media.”

Voguing as Empowerment for queer Refugees
Film: ‘Berlin is Burning’
Talk with the project FutureV, moderated by Sarah Ulrich.

Founded in 2017 as a platform for queer refugees, FutureV has established itself as a dance community for queer people in Berlin and performs regular shows as well as runs workshops. The documentary film ‘Berlin is Burning’ has created a testimony to how dance can make a contribution to dealing with questions of gender, sexuality and identity.
Following the film, together with Ariclenes Garcia aka AriGato Melody (director of dance) and Massumeh Rasch (project coordinator), we will investigate the empowering potential of dance and how queer Ballroom culture and Voguing help strengthen intercultural sensitivity and queer identities of refugees.
Sarah Ulrich is a Leipzig based journalist, moderator and DJ. In her work she focuses on feminism, cultural politics and social issues.

23:59⎜Institut fuer ZukunftClub night: DISCWOMAN Showcase
What began as a festival in the summer of 2014 in New York has become one of the most important feminist* collectives in the music industry. As an international platform and booking agency, Discwoman has managed to shake up the white, patriarchal structures of the electronic music scene with questions about gender identity and intersectional feminism, giving a voice to those who are marginalized in them. www.discwoman.com
